How to order

Enchanted Forest offers in-store shopping in our downtown Truro NS storefront, as well as our online store. We can also take your order over the phone or via email if you prefer! Gift certificates & gift registries, layaway, and fabulous customer service make shopping easy at Enchanted Forest!

Local Customers: Come on in to see, feel and ask questions about our great products! In a hurry, or stuck at home with the kiddos? No problem! We offer local pick-up, so feel free to place your order online and send someone in to pick it up for you.

Everyone else: Online ordering is the fastest, most secure way to place your order. Our in-store and online inventory are synced daily, so if an item is available online, we should have it in stock and ready to ship. That being said, sometimes errors happen! In the unlikely event an item you order is out of stock, we will be in touch to learn your preferences- we can order the item in and ship it to you separately at no cost, substitute a comparable item, or remove it from your order. Are we low or out of stock in a colour/size/product you would like? Please get in touch- we may be receiving our next shipment of your coveted item within the next few days, or we are happy to order it in for you from our suppliers. Prepayment may be required on a case by case basis, depending on the item.

Pricing & Payment

Currency & Pricing: All prices are in Canadian Dollars. Prices online and instore are identical. In the event of a discrepancy - typographical or otherwise - the pricing in our retail store will be taken as the correct pricing. We reserve the right to bill or refund any difference in pricing that may occur as a result of a typographical error.

Payments Accepted: Online and phone purchases can be securely paid for via PayPal, VISA, Mastercard, or Enchanted Forest gift certificates. Email money transfers are also accepted for a $1 fee. Instore customers can pay for their purchases using Mastercard, VISA, Interac/Debit, cash, store credit, Downtown Truro Dollars, or gift certificates.

Gift Certificates: Gift certificates can be used towards any purchase. They have no cash value; any un-used portion of a gift certificate will be re-issued as store credit, not refunded as cash.

Layaway: Need a little help? We're pleased to offer layaway services on orders of $100 or more! Simply use the coupon code "LAYAWAY" at checkout. This will disount your order so that you'll only pay 30% of your order total as a deposit and we will hold your item for you. In 30 days, we'll send you an invoice for 50% of the remaining balance, and we'll send another invoice 30 days later for the remainder. Want to pay off your balance faster? No problem, just get in touch by email or phone! We'll ship your item as soon as your balance is paid in full. You can pay off your balance via PayPal, Email Money Transfer ($1 fee), or by credit card (over the phone). If you decided to change your order item (eg colour, size), we will charge a restocking fee of 10%. If you choose to cancel your order, you will receive your deposit, less a 10% restocking fee, in store credit. 

Vouchers & Coupon Codes: Unless otherwise noted, coupons are single-use only, and cannot be combined with other coupons or special promotional offers, or on orders already placed. As per manufacturer’s regulations, some specific products are exempt from coupons, as are workshops & events. Coupons have no cash value.

Taxes

Taxes vary by province, and are charged at the rate of the province the order will be shipped to. Tax rates per province are as follows (updated April 1, 2013):

• Nova Scotia: 15% (point of sale exemptions applicable on specific items)*
• Ontario: 13% (point of sale exemptions applicable on specific items)*
• Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick: 13%
• Prince Edward Island: 14%
• Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon: 5%

*Point of sale exemptions for diapers, childrens’ clothing, and books exist for NS & ON (in effect, these products are only taxed at the 5% GST, rather than the HST rates in NS & ON). Feminine hygiene products are not taxed in Canada.

Taxes do not apply to gift certificates or some workshops. No sales taxes will be charged on items shipped outside of Canada. International customers are responsible for all taxes, duty, and/or customs charges that may apply.

Shipping

Enchanted Forest offers local pickup in store, as well as shipping within Canada and abroad. Customers can track their orders in the “My Accounts” section of this website.

How we ship: Most orders ship same or next business day via Canada PostvExpedited Parcel Service. This shipping option includes a tracking number and up to $100 of insurance. Canada Post will deliver your parcel within 2-9 business days, depending on your location. In a hurry? Want more insurance? Just contact us for a quote. Smaller items that qualify for free shipping (amber & hazelwood necklaces, etc) ship via Canada Post Lettermail Service. This service does not include a tracking number or insurance, and Enchanted Forest is not responsible for lost or stolen parcels shipped using this method. If you are ordering these items and would like the safeguard of a tracking number or insurance, please contact us.

Shipping Rates: Enchanted Forest offers $9.99 flat-rate shipping within Canada for most orders under $149, and free shipping for most orders over $149. Some exceptions apply*. Free shipping also applies to some of our smaller products that can be shipped via lettermail instead of parcel mail; this will be noted in the product listing.

Save on shipping: Lettermail option: Some lightweight, flat items can be shipped via lettermail instead of parcel mail- Examples include breastpads, RLR laundry treatment, single diaper covers or inserts, bibs, etc. If you wish to place a small order and have it shipped via lettermail, you may use the coupon code LETTERMAIL to reduce the flat rate shipping fee to $2.50. Please be aware that this option does not include a tracking number or insurance, and Enchanted Forest is not responsible for lost or stolen parcels shipped using this method. This coupon code is subject to admin approval, and will not be fulfilled if your order is too large to ship via lettermail service. Please contact us if you are unsure.

Save on shipping: combine with a friend: If you would like to combine an order with a friend, you can certainly do so! You and a friend may each place and pay for your orders separately but have them shipped together. Just make a note in the comments/instructions field during checkout that you're combining your order with your friend. If your combined order total is less than $149, you can split the shipping rate- use coupon code: COMBINESHIPPING and you will each only be charged half of the $9.99 flat rate shipping fee. Or team up with a friend (or few!) to reach the $149 free shipping threshold! You can still order and pay separately, and each use the coupon code FREECOMBINESHIPPING to have the shipping charges removed from all orders. These coupon codes are subject to admin approval, and will not be fulfilled unless they meet the criteria above.

*LennyLamb baby carriers are subject to a flat shipping rate of $9.99. Some heavier or bulky items are exempt from our free shipping offer and will be subject to a shipping surcharge based on the actual shipping cost. Free shipping does not apply to international orders or remote locations. The purchase of Gift Cards, workshops, trial, and rental programs does not count towards your product total for free shipping calculation.

Please note: We recycle packaging materials from our suppliers whenever possible to cut down on waste. If you would like your order to be gift wrapped, please add gift wrapping to your cart and make a note during checkout, or just get in touch, we are happy to help!

Returns & Exchanges

Enchanted Forest cheerfully accepts returns and exchanges on most re-saleable products (unopened, unwashed, in original undamaged packaging) with receipt. Returns within 14 days will be refunded to original payment tendered. Store credit only will be issued for returns from 15-45 days or without receipt. Some exceptions apply: unsealed personal care products, potties, menstrual products, and sale/clearance items are final sale. Returns outside these parameters are subject to management approval and may be denied or subject to a restocking fee.

If you need to return something and are not a local customer, please contact us for a return authorization number before shipping your package back to Enchanted Forest. 

Condition: Unless the product is defective, Enchanted Forest must be able to resell any items that are returned; this means that all items (including any packaging) must be in perfect condition with all tags attached. Enchanted Forest reserves the right to refuse the return or exchange of any products that we feel are not re-sellable based on evidence of use, damaged contents or packaging, odour, etc.

Exceptions: Refunds are only available for orders shipped within Canada. Washed, used, clearance and custom items are non-returnable, nor are baby slings & carriers unless warranty tags are still attached. Potty and feminine hygiene products are final sale, as are personal care/bath products, bedding, diaper sprayers, sippy cups/bottles, and breast pumps & accessories.

Online returns: Unless we made a mistake with your order, you are responsible for return or exchange shipping charges. If you received Free Shipping based on a minimum and returned items drop your order total below this minimum shipping charges will be deducted from your refund amount. Enchanted Forest is not responsible for lost or damaged packages, so please consider insuring them or using delivery confirmation.

Manufacturers defects & Warranties: Products of a defective nature are usually handled directly through the original manufacturer, and Enchanted Forest is happy to direct you to the appropriate company for warranty claims. Most manufacturers prefer to handle warranty issues directly for quality control.Costs associated with the return of a product for evaluation under warranty (shipping charges) will NOT be assumed by the manufacturer or distributor. We, nor our manufacturers, are responsible for damage to an item caused by improper care, abuse, misuse, normal fading or normal "wear and tear" of the product materials. In most cases, care instructions are shipped with the product, but if you need further guidance on how to properly care for your purchases, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help!

 

Safety & Privacy Policy

At Enchanted Forest, your privacy is protected. We never, ever sell or give away your name or contact information (that's just not nice!), and your phone number and email address are only used to get in touch with you about your order when necessary.

Enchanted Forest uses First Data and PayPal merchant processing to collect payments. Both are world-renown, secure, and safe. GeoTrust and SSL encrypts all personal information, so you know your information cannot be intercepted in transit. Bottom line: you're safe with us.
